About the Journal
The Pharmacy Education portfolio sets a foundation for scientific research, as we thrive to foster critical thinking and curiosity for further research. Hence, the availability of a platform to publish research findings serves as a connection for the gap between academic learning and professional contribution. These platforms will only provide an opportunity for students to share their writings but also as a starting point for them to learn more about scientific communication and peer-reviewed publishing.
For decades, the International Pharmaceutical Students' Federation (IPSF) has supported student authors through Phuture, an annual scientific magazine. Since its first release, Phuture has then published 26 volumes with a wide range of content, from original research articles to opinion pieces. Despite the magazine’s success on drawing in student contributors worldwide, it usually does not follow the formal standards of scientific journals. The absence of a peer reviewing process as well as its flexible guidelines limits its potential to become a trustworthy source for researchers.
Recognizing this, IPSF aims to transform Phuture into a revamped publication: the IPSF Journal. This new initiative is done to provide a credible yet accessible platform tailored for pharmacy students to publish their work. The IPSF Journal seeks to embody the structural and editorial rigor expected of academic journals while maintaining its core focus on supporting aspiring authors in their journey toward academic publishing.
Aims and scope of our journal are as follows:
- The IPSFJ will serve as a platform for pharmacy students to publish scientific research and review the upcoming articles. We welcome submissions from authors at all levels, whilst also implementing rigorous standards to ensure the quality and impact of accepted manuscripts.
- Created by and for pharmacy students, IPSFJ offers a unique opportunity for IPSF members to contribute to the scientific community in various roles, such as aspiring authors, editors, and reviewers. Workshops and mentorship sessions led by experienced experts will also be held to enhance the journal publication process.
- The IPSFJ is committed to publishing scientifically relevant literature aligned with current trends and challenges in pharmacy education.
